Ever since I got my Gmail account, I have been on a secret mission to port everyone I know over to use the same service. With it’s fantastic Spam filter, labeling and filter system for incoming messages, I couldn’t see why people wouldn’t want to use the service. The main reason I found that stopped people from making the shift was because they had their old account (Hotmail, Yahoo etc) that had all their contacts and old emails and they didn’t want the hassle of having to tell their friends and family of a new email address.
Luckily Google have predicted this would happen and brought in functions within Gmail that would be able to to port over email accounts from other providers with a few simple clicks. Below we show you how.
When using email on your iPhone, there is the option to add nearly every email service available except one service that over 270 million people world wide still use: Hotmail. Until recently, you needed a third party application to access your Hotmail email until Microsoft, in a bid to take on Google’s Gmail, enabled POP3 access for it’s users.
What this has allowed users to do is have the opportunity to add Hotmail to their iPhones with just two easy steps. This article aims to show you how to do just that.
It appears that for users of the chat function inside Gmail (GTalk) are now able to view YouTube video’s directly from the chat box itself.
This comes hot off the heels of the introduction of voice and video chat, group chat and for US users the ability to send SMS.
Not bad for a browser based messenger.
